The editorial team consults expert reviewers to ensure a high standard of published papers. We acknowledge international and local scientists for taking time to review for the African Zoology journal (Reviewers used in 2008).
African Zoology is an ISI listed journal. Although the impact factor is rather low (0.437) the editorial team are confident that this will change in the near future. African Zoology is available online through BioOne (www.bioone.org). BioOne is currently home to 160 publications from 123 publishers. Papers are also available online from SA ePublications ( http://www.journals.co.za/ej/ejour_afzoo.html ).
Manuscripts should be prepared according to the (Guideline to Authors). Also consult a recent published volume of African Zoology to view the format used by the journal. Manuscripts must still be submitted as an attachment through the email system. Send your cover letter, manuscript and figures to the Scientific Editors of African Zoology (jhvw@sun.ac.za and/or pnm@sun.ac.za). If the manuscript topic falls within the scope of African Zoology, an Associate Editor will be assigned to handle the review process. We aim to complete the reviewing within three weeks.
African Zoology is published biannually, in April and in October. Submit your manuscript by February or August and, assuming smooth reviewing, your papers should be published in the April or October issue respectively.
